Starting his life's story in the peaceful city of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, Daniel Walter Hill's narrative is woven with unwavering commitment, a strong sense of purpose, and a dash of fortunate destiny. Initially from Canada, he later found a new home and perspective in St. Augustine, Florida, an impactful decision influenced by a significant car accident that not only altered his life direction but also led him to make his way to the United Kingdom.
His career spans an impressive range of industries, including real estate, home construction, golf course development, oil and gas, cable television, plastics production, utilities, and waste management. He has been crucial in founding, advising, and managing several companies in these varied sectors, showcasing his skill in navigating complex challenges, effective capital raising, and strategic leadership.
In his diverse business endeavors, he was a central founding advisor and investor in Allied Waste Industries. This significant waste management force later merged with and rebranded as Republic Services. His professional journey began in real estate development, where he masterminded the development of extensive mixed-use real estate projects in Texas, California, and Arizona, overseeing everything from acquisition and design to planning and financial management.
His academic background is as extensive as his professional path. He began with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Georgetown University, then advanced to a Law degree from the University of Saskatchewan, eventually being admitted to the bar in British Columbia. He continued his educational endeavors and completed the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard University's School of Business Administration. Further enhancing his financial acumen, he pursued studies in Executive Finance at Oxford Templeton College in the UK.
